What is your time for?
One-on-one coaching with Mike Vardy, built around how you actually work, the people and commitments that share your time, and the season you’re in.
Most people who reach out to me aren’t starting from zero. They’ve tried systems, and some of them worked for a while. What they want now is someone to work alongside them while they build a practice that fits their life, rather than one more technique to learn.
Even when business isn’t personal, productivity always is.
How we work together
There’s no template. We work from you outward, and the work keeps changing as your weeks do.
-
We start with you
Before our first session, you take the TimeCrafting Types assessment. Your Type is a starting point, not a label. Then we look at the nuances: when your energy is at its best, whether your calendar or your to-do list leads your day, and what else lays claim to your time right now.
-
We build from what’s already working
TimeCrafting gives us three elements to work with: Time Theming, Attention Paths and Reflective Practice. We use what fits and set aside what doesn’t, in whatever tools you already use, on paper or on a screen.
-
We test it in your real weeks
Between sessions, you practice one or two specific things, like journaling each day for a week or holding one theme through an afternoon. You don’t owe me a report. We look at what held up and adjust from there.
-
We work with your seasons
Budget cycles, launches, holidays and school calendars all change what’s possible. When a stretch gets heavy, we lighten the rhythm with check-ins instead of calls, so the practice continues without crowding your calendar.
What it asks of you
- An hour every two weeks for our session.
- Time between sessions to try things in your own days. This is where most of the work happens.
- Honesty about what’s working and what isn’t.
- A willingness to set some boundaries. They don’t have to be hard ones, but you’ll need some.
What I commit to
- Coming prepared to every session, from your notes and where we left off.
- Written notes after every session, including what to practice next.
- Check-ins between sessions, so two weeks never means being on your own.
- Adjusting with you as your weeks change, instead of handing you a finished system.
- Telling you plainly when something is beyond coaching, and pointing you to the right help.
I keep my one-on-one practice small, usually no more than five clients a season, so each one gets my full attention. If I’m full when you reach out, I’ll tell you when the next opening is.

Who this isn’t for
- You want a finished system handed to you. I don’t have one to hand over; we build yours together.
- You want step-by-step help with a particular app. We’ll talk about tools, but the work is the approach, not the settings.
- You’re looking for someone to measure a team’s efficiency. That isn’t the work I do.
- You’re in crisis or need therapy or counseling. Coaching isn’t a substitute, and I’ll help you find the right support.
- You can’t make room between sessions to practice. The sessions alone won’t carry it.
What this connects to
Coaching stands on its own. You don’t need to be a member of TimeCrafting Trust or buy anything else to work with me.
The TimeCrafting Types assessment adds you to my email list, and you can unsubscribe at any time. If you’d like to read the thinking behind this work first, it’s in my book, Productiveness. Reading it isn’t required.
Before you book
What happens on the free call?
It’s 15 minutes on Zoom. I’ll ask what you’ve tried and what you’d like to change, tell you how I work, and we’ll decide together whether there’s a fit and what comes next. There’s no obligation either way.
I’m outside North America. Will the timing work?
Most likely. Sessions are virtual, and I’m in Victoria, BC, Canada, on Pacific Time (UTC−7 all year). My mornings fall in the late afternoon and evening across Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and my late afternoons fall in the morning in East Asia and Australia.
Can my employer pay for this?
Yes, at the same prices. I’ll invoice your company in US dollars, include a purchase order number if your company uses them, and provide what your finance or HR team needs to approve it. What we discuss in our sessions stays between us unless you choose to share it.
What if a busy stretch hits partway through?
We adjust. Sessions can be spaced out and replaced with check-ins for a few weeks, and an engagement can stretch around holidays without losing a session.
Do I need to use a particular app?
No. TimeCrafting works on paper or in any digital tool. We start with what you already use.
What happens when an engagement ends?
You can stop there or continue with another season. Either way, the notes from every session are yours to keep.
