Sandy

I tried to write something for the blog today. That’s not to say I didn’t work on other things work-related – I did – but I had an idea for a post that would have been tied into what I usually write about here. You know, something about how to be more efficient and effective, what tools you can use to make that happen, and so on.

But I didn’t write it.

You see, all that keeps entering my mind is the fact that our recording of Mikes on Mics got cancelled tonight because of one massive storm — Sandy — that is hitting where my co-host and good friend Michael Schechter is.

And it’s hitting hard.

I’m obviously not upset the recording didn’t happen. And while I haven’t seen a tweet or any sort of update from him in hours, I’m sure he and his family are safe.1 And he’s doing exactly what he needs to be doing right now. There’s nothing like having your options limited to give you that kind of perspective. Nature has a way of doing that from time to time.

For those of you back east that are dealing with this horrific storm, please stay safe. Reassure your children. Hold steady until it passes. Take care of yourselves and those around you.

That’s all that should be on your to do list right now.

1 Sure, it’d be nice to know that for certain – but considering what’s going on right now, I’ll take what I can get.
