When I saw the Cameron Crowe film We Bought A Zoo, it got me to thinking about how our lives are structured in similar way.1
Enclosures need to be revamped, boundaries need to expanded for a better sense of freedom, and sometimes you just have to let things go…whether you’re ready to out not. And while you can’t escape your life, you can certainly build one that fits you better if you’re willing to pull out all the stops to do so.
Once you have all of that in place, you still need to maintain it. But you can go about your day all the same and enjoy it. Everything you’ve got is a labour of love and as natural as you can make it.
We’ve all got a zoo.
But does yours pass inspection?

1 That said, my wife says the book is very different than the movie. Actually, she thought the guy was an ass in the book. So I guess I’m more like the movie version….without the looks. (Note: If you buy the film or book using the links provided, it will finally get me some love from Amazon. So there’s that.)
