This is the first entry in my personal journal. Seriously.
Even though I’ve posted it here as well, it’s going to be part of my journal that I will be keeping during the course of the year. Possibly longer.
One of the things I believe is that January is not the best time to take on new habits or eliminate bad ones. It’s a time to recharge, reflect and refocus.
And a journal can really help you do that.
So while I’m using Day One on my iPad to journal, you may want to use a good ol’ pen and paper, a digital recorder, Evernote or some other platform. Regardless…do it.
Why? Well, other than giving you a place to look back and reflect and chronicle the events in your life, there’s one essential benefit to your productivity:
Journaling is like a brain dump at the end of the day.
So if you have no interest in doing it for any other reason, do it for that one. You’ll be so much better off for it — and you may get some benefits from the other things I’ve mentioned too.
I’ll check back in each month with updates on how this is going for me. I think it’s going to have a major impact on my 2012.
Seriously.
