3 Productivity Apps I’ve Added to My Workflow

Productivity Apps

I don’t write about apps or tools all that often, but when one (or more) adds value to my productivity then I’m inclined to share my thoughts. That’s why I want to share with you 3 productivity apps I’ve added to my workflow and have given me exactly what I need from them… and then some.

SavvyCal

With Woven shutting down after being acquired by Slack, I was in search of a new calendar program that would best fit my needs. But I also wanted one that would work well for those I was actually sending links to – which, to be honest, with something Woven struggled with a bit.

I found my solution in SavvyCal. I’ve tried a slew of these type of apps and I didn’t make selecting SavvyCal lightly. I’ll be putting together some more content that explores SavvyCal deeper once I’ve spent more time with it, but if you want to get started right now you can check out SavvyCal here.

Brain.fm

I go for walks twice per day – one to kick off my day and one to wrap up my workday before I transition into home life. I like having those transitions since I work from home… and have for the past decade. Sometimes I listen to podcasts. Sometimes I listen to audiobooks — primarily through Scribd.

But more often than not – especially in the morning – I want to prime my brain for the day. And that’s why I use Brain.fm. I fire up Brain.fm and select the Creative Focus option for 30 minutes and head out the door. By the time I’m back at my desk, I’m ready to dive into writing. As a matter of fact, I dictated most of this post while walking home from a morning walk while Brain.fm was playing in my ears.

ClickUp

I was a Asana user from its earliest days but Asana’s focus seems to be more on enterprise and larger businesses these days. And while I love Todoist as a personal task management application, it does have limitations when you’re trying to scale with a larger team.

Now I don’t have a large team, but I do have a lot of things happening concurrently. Plus, there are some components that I want to add to the mix to make things a lot more manageable. And not everyone on my team likes to look at their tasks in the same way. With all of that in mind, I landed on ClickUp as the solution. If you’ve been looking for a project management solution that’s next level scalable and reliable, then I encourage you to check out ClickUp.

I’ve added these tools to my Tools page – a page where you can find pretty much everything I use in my professional and personal life. If you’d like to share your thoughts on these three apps, hit me up on Twitter. I’m @mikevardy there. I’d love to hear from you.
