Trying

I spend a lot of time trying. Heck, we all do.

By spending time trying I discover whether or not I am able to improve on something. Whether that’s a system, an app, or a workflow by using a system or app.

Trying as a verb is great. As an adjective? Not so much.

The goal is to avoid spending time in trying times, situations, or work. And by spending times trying, you can wind up in trying times, situations, or work.

So when Yoda says, “Do or do not, there is no try,” he is wrong. There is try. There is always try. There is good try and bad try.

It’s what type of “try” you spend your time on that determines how much good doing and bad doing you spend your time on.
